NOPA Football Awards 2011: call for entries

by Picklive on September 27, 2011

We’re delighted to announce nominations are open for the NOPAs 2011.

The NOPAs recognise excellence in football blogging and football podcasting. This year we have the same five categories as last year plus three new* categories:

  1. Best football blog
  2. Best football podcast
  3. Best individual contributor to a football blog or podcast
  4. Best tweeter*
  5. Best new football blog or podcast (must have launched during 2011)
  6. Best international blogger (classified as content focussed on non-English football)*
  7. Best young football blogger/podder (must be 25 or under on 31st Dec 2011)
  8. Crossover Award (for bloggers/podders that have crossed into mainstream journalism or media during 2011)*

Shortlisted nominations will automatically be entered into a 9th category, the People’s Choice Award, the winner of which will be decided by public vote.

All previous winners of a NOPA will be invited to help judge entries (only categories they are not nominated in themselves) and create the 2011 shortlists. Those shortlisted will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony in London in December where the winners will be announced. This year’s statuettes will be identical to last year except they will be one solid piece (after Danny Last lost his ball last year) and with a homing device attached (after Barry Glendenning gave his away).

Voting for the People’s Choice award will not go live until after the shortlists have been announced in November. To nominate a blog, a podcast or a person please go to the nominations page here.

If you’d like to sponsor an award please contact Olly here.
