The NOPAs 2011 winners

When I first said I was going into comedy, everyone laughed. They're not laughing now.

We had a marvelous night on Thursday at the second annual NOPA awards for football bloggers and podcasters. Of course all nominees and attendees are winners but here are the actual winners:

  1. Blizzard Award for Best Young Blogger – Jack Lang for Snap, Kaka Pop
  2. Telegraph Fantasy Football Award for Best International Blog – Ben Shave for Cahiers du Sport
  3. Socrates Award for Outstanding Contribution to blogging – Damon Threadgold and Simon Barnett for the Real FA Cup
  4. Coral Award for Best New Blog – Liam Ferry for On Goals Scrored
  5. Media Crossover Award – Michael Cox for Zonal Marking
  6. Best Contributor to a Blog or a Podcast – Andrew Thomas for Twisted Blood
  7. Best Tweeter – OptaJoe
  8. IAMPLAYR Award for Best Podcast – Guardian Football Weekly
  9. Paddy Power Award for Best Blog – In Bed With Maradona
  10. The People’s Choice Award – the Anfield Wrap

As I say it was a great evening. We’d like to thank everyone that attended, all of our sponsors and guest presenters.

We don’t have the figure yet but I hope we’ve raised a ton of cash for DS Active – the official charity of the NOPAs.
